UP News: In Uttar Pradesh, a big relief is going to come for six thousand farmers of Hardoi district. The Yogi government has taken a big decision for these farmers. Consumers in this district have a bill of Rs 3 crore from April to December which will be waived.
There is good news for the farmers of Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government's decision to give free electricity to farmers will benefit six thousand farmers. The electricity bill of the farmers of Hardoi district, which is three crore rupees, will be waived by the Yogi government. Meanwhile, the OTS scheme run by the Yogi government is also providing relief to the farmers.
The government had promised to provide free power to farmers. The department was awaiting instructions from the government in this regard. An order has been issued by the administration. Under this, private tubewell connection holders will not have to pay electricity bill after 31 March 2023.
On the earlier bill, the farmer can get exemption in the surcharge by registering under the OTS scheme till December 31. There are 6035 private tubewell connection holders in the district as per departmental data. The department has an outstanding electricity bill of Rs. 16.65 crore.
According to data from the department, private tubewell connection holders are charged Rs 550 per month as fixed charges. As many as 6035 consumers in the district have a bill of Rs 3 crore from April to December. This will benefit farmers a lot.
