Sakat Chauth 2024: According to the Hindu calendar, the Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on Shukla Chaturthi of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. It is believed that worshipping Lord Ganesha on this day ensures good health and long life for the devotees. This year, the fast of Sakat Chauth will be observed on 29 January 2024. It is also known as Sankashti Chaturthi, Vakratundi Chaturthi and Tilakuta Chaturthi. On this day, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya are worshipped. When is Sakat Chauth Puja?

According to the Hindu calendar, the Chaturthi Tithi will begin at 6.10 am on January 29, 2024 and will continue till 8.55 am on the next day i.e. January 30, 2024. Therefore, according to Udyathi, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 29th January 2024.

Importance of Sakat Chauth Puja

The fourth day is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. On this day, Lord Ganesha removes all the obstacles in life by fasting and praying. Sakat Chauth vrat in the month of Magha is mainly observed by women to pray for the long life of their children. It is believed that observing a fast on this day removes all troubles and brings happiness and prosperity in life. It is believed that Lord Ganesha circumambulated Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva on the day of Sakat Chauth, which is why this fast has special significance.

Worship Lord Ganesha with fragrance, akshat, flowers, incense, lamp offering, seasonal fruits etc. and also offer Arghya to the moon. Om Chandraghanta Namah when offering prayers to the Moon. Om Namah Shivaya. Mantras should be chanted. On this day, devotees observe a fast on this day and wait for the moon to rise. If possible, donate ten mahadanas including donation of food, donation of salt, donation of jaggery, donation of gold, donation of sesame seeds, donation of clothes, donation of cow dung, donation of gems, donation of silver and tenth donation of sugar. By doing this, the people can get rid of poverty, debt, disease and humiliation.

The time of the moon: According to the Panchang, this year the fast of Sakat Chauth will be observed in Shobhan Yoga.  The moonrise will take place at 8: 52 pm on January 29, 2024. However, there may be a slight difference in the time of moonrise in different cities.
