On this full moon day, the yoga of Chitra Nakshatra is also being made, which will start from the morning of April 23 and will remain till 10: 32 pm. After this, Swati Nakshatra will start.
On the day of Chaitra Purnima, wake up in Brahma Muhurta, clean the house, take a bath and wear clean and clean clothes. Now take a post and install the idol or picture of Maa Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu by laying a clean cloth of red or yellow color on the post. After this, roli, rice and flowers should be offered to Maa Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu along with the rituals. Recite their special mantras and hymns.
Also, chant the mantras of Lord Vishnu. Now do the aarti of Mata Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu and finally offer them kheer. Many devotees observe a fast on this day and worship Lord Vishnu. On the night of Purnima, after the moonrise, offer Arghya to the moon by pouring raw milk and then observe the fast.
According to the calendar, the Chaitra Purnima will begin at 3: 26 am on Tuesday, April 23, and will end at 5: 19 am on Udaya Tithi. Since the full moon is on the 23rd, the fasting of the full moon will be kept on Tuesday.
