What is Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana?

'Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana': Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the Pran Parthishtha of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. He said the government will help install solar panels on 1 crore houses in India. The Prime Minister announced the 'Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana'.

After returning from the Pran-Pratishtha program, PM Modi announced the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana. People will soon get rid of electricity bills. The scheme aims to reduce the electricity bills of the poor and middle class people. Let's know more about this scheme.

PM Modi tweeted:

"All the devotees of the world always get energy from the light of Lord Shri Ram. Today, on the auspicious occasion of Pran-Pratishtha in Ayodhya, it has been my resolve that Indians should have their own solar rooftop system on the roof of their house."

"After returning from Ayodhya, I have taken the first decision that our government will launch 'Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana' with a target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses. This will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but will also make India self-reliant in the field of energy."

Who will benefit from the scheme?

Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana is going to be launched for the poor and middle class people of the country. People living in remote areas will be covered under this scheme. At present, no guidelines have been issued by the government in this regard, but it is being told that families whose income is less than two lakh rupees will get the benefit of this scheme. At present, one crore people will be brought under the scheme. After the installation of solar panels, people will be relieved of the tension of electricity bills. The biggest beneficiaries of this scheme will be the people of those states where electricity is very expensive.

PM Suryodaya Yojana eligibility usually includes:

• Preference is given to those who have not participated in similar government solar energy schemes.
