Now West Indies has defeated Afghanistan team by 104 runs in the group stage of T20 World Cup 2024. Nicholas Pooran and Johnson Charles were the standout performers for West Indies. It is because of these players that the West Indies team has been able to win.
Johnson Charles was on 43 off 27 balls when he reached his half-century. He was then dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq. After his dismissal, the responsibility of scoring runs was taken by Nicholas Pooran and Sai Hope. Pooran presented a sample of explosive batting. But he missed his century by two runs. He scored 98 off 53 balls with 6 fours and 8 sixes. Rovman Powell and Shai Hope scored 26 and 25 runs respectively.
