Virat became the only batsmen in the history of the sport to cross 2000 international runs in 7 calendar years.

Arguably the best batsman in the world, Kohli has scored more than 2K runs in a calendar year in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2023.

The record of scoring 2000 runs in a calendar year belonged to Kumar Sangakkara, who achieved that feat 6 times from 2004 to 2013.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar also scored 2000 runs five times in a calendar year in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2007.

Another legend, Mahela Jayawardene scored 2000 runs in a calendar year 5 times in his career in 2001, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2013

Jacques Kallis, who is the finest all-rounder in history, scored more than 2000 runs four times in 2000, 2004, 2007, and 2010.

The legendary Australian captain, Ricky Ponting, has also scored over 2000 runs four times in his career in 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2009.

Saurav Ganguly and Matthew Hayden have also scored over 2K runs in a calendar year four times in their career.
