Dr Laxman Prabhu was born in 1963. He completed his MBBS degree from KMC Mangaluru in 1985. Dr Prabhu later completed his MS degree at the same institute in 1989. He chose urology for his MCh specialization and became a specialist in urology in 1992. In 1993, Dr Prabhu obtained DNB in urinary surgery.

Dr Prabhu became the secretary for the 2023-24 period. The leading urologists chose him for the 55th annual conference of the USI, which was organized in Ahmedabad in 2022. He was the president of the Karnataka Urology Association, a council member of the same body, and the Association of Southern Urologists’ secretary in the past.
