India's Suryakumar Yadav has been named the ICC T20I Player of the Year for 2023. This is the second time Suryakumar Yadav has won the award. Suryakumar was earlier named in the T20I Team of the Year and was made the captain.
Suryakumar Yadav was named the T20I Cricketer of the Year for the second time in a row. The International Cricket Council (ICC) last year named India's star batsman Suryakumar Yadav as the best T20I cricketer for the year 2023. Earlier in 2022, Suryakumar had also received this award. He became the first Indian to win the T20I Cricketer of the Year award twice in a row.
Along with Suryakumar Yadav, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, New Zealand's Mark Chapman and Uganda's Alpesh Ramazani were in contention to win the award. However, Suryakumar won the award. Surya had batted at a strike rate of over 150 in 2023 at an average of around 50.
In 2023, UAE's Suryakumar Yadav scored the most 863 runs in 23 matches at an average of nearly 40 and a strike rate of 162.52. Suryakumar Yadav scored 733 runs in 18 matches at an average of 48.86 and a strike rate of 155.95. Surya scored two centuries and five half-centuries.

Kenya's Quenter Abel was named the ICC Associate Player of the Year in the women's category. She became the first Kenyan woman to win an ICC award. Kenya's Thomas Odoyo won the 2007 ICC Associate Player of the Year award. Quenter Abel is the only associate player (male / female) to score more than 1000 runs as well as take more than 50 wickets in international T20s.
In women's cricket, West Indies' Healy Mathews won the T20I Cricketer of the Year award. Mathews became the second West Indies player to win the T20I Player of the Year award. Mathews had a great run in 2023.
