Priyanka Gandhi will not contest the elections this time. The Congress has fielded KL Sharma, who represented Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli, against Smriti Irani in Amethi. Rahul was not willing to contest from any seat other than Wayanad but Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has convinced him to contest from UP. Like last time, Rahul Gandhi is contesting from two seats. Rahul Gandhi is also contesting from Kerala's Wayanad, from where he won in 2019 and this time too. Wayanad went to polls in the second phase on April 26.
