Batting first, KKR had scored 261 runs, which was the highest score at Eden Gardens. Within 2 hours, Punjab broke that record and scored 262 runs.
A total of 42 sixes were hit by both teams in this match, which is a new record for the most sixes in any T20 match. The previous record (38) was also set in the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore and Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians IPL matches in the 2024 season.
In this match, both the openers from both the teams scored more than 50 runs, which is the first time in IPL. Sunil Narine (71) and Phil Salt (75) scored for KKR, while Prabhsimran Singh (54) and Bairstow (108) scored for Punjab.
