OpenAI, a company working in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), hosted a spring update event at its US office on (May 13). At the event, the company's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Mira Murati launched the company's new flagship model ChatGPT 4o. The company claims that its new model is more powerful than GPT-4 and is also capable of human-like interaction.

"ChatGPT 4o will primarily focus on making AI tools easier to use for its users. Murati says that ChatGPT 4o is the future of interaction between humans and machines. "It improves capabilities like text, vision and audio. The ChatGPT 4o is 2 times faster, 50 percent cheaper and has a rate range 5 times higher than the GPT-4 Turbo.
ChatGPT 4o users will be able to upload screenshots and documents and have text conversations with the AI tool.
Until now, only users with a paid subscription could access images and documents with the tool, and free users could interact with the AI chatbot only in text.
It will be able to read charts and statistics to analyze data to give you answers and summaries.
This app comes with a new user interface (UI) and users will now see a new home screen as well as a message layout. OpenAI announced the launch of ChatGPT's desktop app. The new app is currently available for Mac users and the company may soon launch it for Windows users as well. With this app, users can interact with ChatGPT by tapping or asking questions using voice mode.
Users of this new model will also be able to use the browser to find real-time conversations with the chatbot. ChatGPT 4o will be much better at understanding the tone of voice, eliminating background noise, and it will also be able to easily reason between text and vision. The new model will also bring the smartness of GPT-4 to free users. Currently, free users can only access ChatGPT 3.5.
Mira Murati is of Albanian descent and her parents are also from Albania. Meera is educated in Canada and is a mechanical engineer by profession. She is the Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI since 2018. While an undergraduate at Dartmouth College, Mira Murati built a hybrid race car. Meera Murati has also interned at Goldman Sachs.
