Batting first, Hyderabad scored 173 runs, in reply, Mumbai achieved the target in just 17.2 overs. The big thing is that Mumbai's 3 wickets fell for just 31 runs, but after this, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma made an unbeaten partnership of 143 runs to win the team.

Mumbai did not have a good start, and lost 3 wickets in the powerplay itself. Chasing the target, Mumbai lost the wicket of Ishan Kishan in the second over. He could only score 9 runs. Rohit Sharma departs after scoring 4 runs. Naman Dhir could not even open his account. Suryakumar Yadav then came to the crease and the player stole the smiles from Hyderabad. He thrashed the likes of Marco Yansen, Pat Cummins and T Natarajan. Suryakumar was particularly severe on Yanson. He gave away 45 runs in his 3 overs. Suryakumar Yadav's half-century came off just 30 balls and he reached the century in the next 21 balls. Suryakumar Yadav smashed 12 fours and 6 sixes in his second IPL century.

With the help of century, Suryakumar Yadav also played a key role in Mumbai's victory. Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla took 3-3 wickets each. Chawla scalped the wickets of Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen as Hyderabad's hopes of reaching a big total were dashed. Jasprit Bumrah also picked up a wicket, giving away just 23 runs in his 4 overs. Travis Head top-scored for Hyderabad with 48. Pat Cummins remained unbeaten on 35 off 17 balls. SRH’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket for 22 runs in 4 overs. However, Hyderabad lost the match. Hyderabad now have 12 points from 11 games.
