Rashtrapati Bhavan

Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India, is located in New Delhi. As for the building itself, it's beautifully designed. The construction of this building was started in 1912 during the British rule. The Rashtrapati Bhavan was completed after 17 years. Rashtrapati Bhavan is celebrating the 75th Republic Day today. People are curious to know about Rashtrapati Bhavan. The construction of Rashtrapati Bhavan began in 1912 and was completed in 1929. It was built by the British. A total of more than 29 thousand people worked in the construction of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The central dome is considered to be the most attractive feature of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. It reminds us of the Stupa of Sanchi and it adorns the building like a crown about 55 feet above the building.

Rashtrapati Bhavan

Rashtrapati Bhavan is the world's largest building after the Quirinal Palace in Rome, Italy. It is also known as the Presidential Palace. The building has more than 300 rooms, including the President's office, guest rooms and staff rooms. A total of 750 employees work in the Rashtrapati Bhavan and 245 of them are in the President's Secretariat.

70 crore bricks have been used in the construction of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Also, 30 lakh cubic feet of stones have been used in it. Before Independence, Rashtrapati Bhavan was known as Viceroy's House. Rashtrapati Bhavan is the largest residential complex in India. Amrit Udyan (formerly Mughal Garden) is also inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan and is opened to the general public in February every year.

There are 184 gardeners engaged in the care of the famous Mughal Garden inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan. A total of 28 employees, including two cooks, a chief baker and a head confectioner, have been deployed for the kitchen. Many tourists from home and abroad come to visit here. Hence, 32 butlers including 4 head butlers work to take care of all those food pins.

There is a separate team for breakfast. In this building, 10 separate workers have been appointed to wash the utensils. The President keeps on moving from one place to another. For this, 39 teams have been formed. At the same time, there are 19 washeries for cleaning clothes. The rest of the employees have been engaged in other works.

 The Rashtrapati Bhavan is built on the Raisina Hills. The President's House was built by Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens Architects. The banquet hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan can accommodate 104 guests at a time. The Rashtrapati Bhavan also has a marble hall with some paintings and sculptures of the Viceroy and the British Royal Family. The 640 kg silver chair of King George V is also kept in the Gift Museum of Rashtrapati Bhavan. On this chair he used to sit in Delhi Durbar in 1911.

As we mentioned, there are about 340 rooms in Rashtrapati Bhavan. All of these rooms are nothing short of stunning. The Rashtrapati Bhavan has 18 staircases and around 74 verandahs. Droupadi Murmu took oath as the 15th President of India on July 25, 2022. Murmu, who is 64, is a tribal leader from Rairangpur in Odisha, and the first person from the Scheduled Tribe community to be elected as the President of India.

Prior to her presidency, Droupadi Murmu served as the 9th Governor of Jharkhand between 2015 and 2021 and also held various political positions in the cabinet of the Government of Odisha between 2000 and 2004. Before entering the world of politics, he worked as. He worked as a teacher in Rairangpur till 1997 and later as a clerk in the State Irrigation and Power Department between 1979 and 1983.

In 2007, the Odisha Legislative Assembly honoured Draupadi Murmu with the Neelkanth Award for Best Legislator. And with her hard work, Draupadi Murmu added another feather to her cap and took charge as the President of India.

A ceremonial 'Change of Guard' ceremony is held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. It lasts 30 minutes and is open to the public. To see this, you have to show a photo identity card at the entrance of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
