Confirm Rishabh Pant Play IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant is going to return to competitive cricket from IPL 2024. The 17th season will begin on March 22. The wicketkeeper-batsman is a part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL. He had a terrible car accident in December 2022. He has worked very hard in the last 15 months to make a comeback. Apart from the IPL, Pant can also play in the T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in June.
Team India's star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant met with a car accident on his way from Delhi to Roorkee in the year 2022. Since then, he has been away from the cricket field. He has been in rehabilitation for 14 months. He has now been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batsman.
Rishabh Pant had suffered multiple horrific injuries in this car accident, for which he took a long time for treatment and rehab. Pant had sustained serious injuries on his ankle, knee, hand, besides a few bruises on his back. There were many doubts over his return as a wicket-keeper batsman but the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has given relief to Indian cricket.
Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting recently gave an update on Pant's fitness. Pant has resumed wicket-keeping at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. It's a big decision we have to take because if he's fit, you'd think he'd be straight back into the captaincy role. If he's not fully fit and we have to use him in a slightly different role, we'll have to make some decisions.
