Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored centuries as India thrashed England in the fifth and final Test. India defeated England by an innings and 64 runs in the fifth and final Test at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. England were bowled out for 195 in their second innings. India won that series 4-1. The Dharamsala Test is the first match of this series which has ended in three days. Earlier, all the four matches went to the fourth day. This victory of Team India is very historic because after 112 years in Test cricket, a team has won the five-match Test series by a score line of 4-1 after losing the first Test match.

India had lost the first Test by eight wickets at Hyderabad. At that time, it seemed that the England team could trouble India. The same thing happened in the second match as well, but India won. After this, the England team could not give India the kind of competition that was expected.

Ind vs Eng Test Match

Team India started the third day of the match with 473 runs for the loss of eight wickets. India were all out for just four runs. James Anderson became the fastest bowler to reach 700 Test wickets when he dismissed Kuldeep Yadav. After this, Shoaib Bashir dismissed Jasprit Bumrah and ended the Indian innings. India lead by 259 runs. This lead proved too much for England and they suffered an innings defeat. Only, the Root scored 84 off 128 balls with the help of 12 fours.

Rohit didn't take the field as he had stiffness in his back. Bumrah replaced him as captain and gave the first over to Ashwin. Ashwin dismissed Ben Duckett in the very first over. He scored two goals. The off-spinner's next victim was Zak Crawley, who got out without opening his account. Ollie Pope was also dismissed by Ashwin for 19. England captain Ben Stokes (2) also fell to Ashwin's spin. Ashwin completed his five-wicket haul by dismissing wicketkeeper Ben Foakes (8).

For India, Ashwin took five wickets for 77 runs in 14 overs. Kuldeep Yadav and Bumrah took two wickets each. Jadeja gets a wicket. Kuldeep scalped five wickets in the first innings. Ashwin took four wickets. Jadeja also got a wicket in the first innings.

Kuldeep Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been in sublime form in the ongoing Test series against England. "We spoke to Kuldeep a long time ago, when we were looking for wickets in the first innings in this game, Kuldeep was the one who got us the breakthrough," Rohit said in a statement. Since coming back from injury, Kuldeep has played very well and has done a lot of work on his fitness at the NCA. The future is very bright. When such a player is present in your team, the opposition bowlers are feeling the pressure. Although he has to face many challenges ahead, he keeps himself ready for all these situations.

India Batting Shows True Potential

England did not get off to a great start in the first innings. After this, his bowling also looked weak and inexperienced in front of India's batting. Shubman Gill top-scored for India with 113 while Rohit Sharma made 103 runs. Three batsmen scored half-centuries. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with 57 runs. Devdutt Padikkal was the scored with 65 runs. Sarfaraz Khan was the scored 56 runs.

Virat Kohli has been India's most successful Test captain. Under Virat Kohli's captaincy, India won 40 out of 68 Tests. They have won 17 games and lost 11. He is followed by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly. With 10 wins in 16 Tests, Rohit Sharma is India's fifth most successful captain in Test cricket.
