Weather Update: Cold day to severe cold day conditions may continue at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh and at one or two places over East Rajasthan and East Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Similar conditions will prevail in East Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan, where such situation may continue. But from January 8, there will be rain in Northern and Central India, so be prepared for winter. It is going to rain here next couple of days.

Rain is also expected in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In such a situation, there will be rain in the plains and there will be extreme cold due to rain and snowfall in the mountains.

Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency, forecasts that cold day to severe cold day conditions may persist at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours. At the same time, there may be heavy fog in Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Heavy fog may occur in some areas of Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu and West Madhya Pradesh.

There may be light rain at some places in Central Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand and Rayalaseema. Interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep may witness heavy rain at one or two places with light to moderate rain. Light to moderate rainfall may occur over Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh. Light rain may occur in Western Himalayas and Karnataka.

Meteorologists of the agency said that now people should take out umbrellas as rain is expected. Light to moderate rain is expected in northern Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on January 8. By January 10, the rain will move westwards and cover parts of Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. There may also be rain in the hill station areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in January. Days of relief will begin from January 11, when the sky will clear.
