Rohit_RishabhDelhi Capitals have continued their comeback with a great performance in IPL 2024 and this time they have equalized their defeat to Mumbai Indians. Like many previous matches of this season, this match played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, April 27, also scored heavily. Batting first, Delhi scored 257 runs on the back of Jake Fraser-McGurk's 84-run knock, in response to which Mumbai reached 247 runs and lost by 10 runs.

Batting first, Delhi put up a score of 257 runs, which was the highest score by this franchise in IPL history. Delhi and Mumbai have faced each other twice this season. Mumbai Indians scored 234 runs in the match and defeated Delhi Capitals by 29 runs. This time Delhi equalled it completely with Mumbai at their home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium.

This season, ever since Delhi has fielded 22-year-old young Australian batsman Jake Fraser McGurk, there has been a different life in the team's batting. McGurk, who was attacking with full force from the first ball, gave Mumbai a similar welcome and gave away 19 runs in the first over. McGurk's big breakthrough came in the second over, when he hit a six off Jasprit Bumrah's first ball and a boundary on the next. 18 runs came from that over. McGurk reached his half-century off just 15 balls. For the second time this season, McGurk scored a fifty in 15 balls.

The effect of this was seen on Delhi's score and the team gave away 92 runs in the powerplay itself. McGurk's onslaught stopped in the 8th over but by then Delhi had scored 114 runs. McGurk's 84 came off just 27 balls with 11 fours and 6 sixes. Hope scored 41 off just 17 balls with the help of 5 sixes. Rishabh Pant could not play a much faster and bigger innings this time but Tristan Stubbs continued his magic and scored an unbeaten 48 runs in just 25 balls to take the team to 257 runs.

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who have been in good form in the last few games, have failed to get going in the powerplay. At the same time, Suryakumar Yadav hit some amazing shots as soon as he came back but once again he failed to play a big innings for the team this season. Mumbai lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay, with Khaleel Ahmed (2/45) dismissing Rohit and Surya while Mukesh Kumar (3/59) dismissed Ishan.

Skipper Hardik (46), who has failed on every front so far this season, attacked as soon as he arrived and accelerated the team's score. He shared a 71-run stand with Tilak Verma (62) before young pacer Rasikh Salam (3/34) got his wicket. In the same over, Salam also dismissed Nehal Wadhera. Then Tim David (37) and Tilak Verma got out and started scoring boundaries. The duo added 70 runs but Mukesh sent them back. Mumbai needed 25 runs in the last over but Tilak Verma was run out in the first ball and Mumbai's defeat was sealed.
