David Miller on His T20i retirement: In the final of T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa lost to India by 7 runs. On one hand, there were tears of joy in the eyes of the Indian team, on the other hand, the African team reached the final this time but could not erase the stain of the chokers. After South Africa's defeat, David Miller was targeted. There were speculations that Miller has retired from international T20 cricket in frustration with the defeat, but now Miller himself has broken the silence on the matter.
David Miller shared the news on his Instagram account with the caption, "All the reports that have come out are false. I have not retired from T20 international cricket. Earlier, Miller had responded to the topic of defeat against India in the final by updating another story. Miller said that he is very sad about the defeat and it is very difficult to accept it. Nevertheless, he expressed pride in his team and said that this team will continue to set new standards.
South Africa needed 16 runs to win in the last over of the final against India. The first ball of Hardik Pandya's over, David Miller hit a big shot, but Suryakumar Yadav showed athletic ability and took a great catch. But after the final match ended, a video surfaced, claiming that Suryakumar's left leg had touched the boundary.
