In India, the Seal will be offered with an 82.5 kWh battery pack, capable of delivering a range of 570km with a rear-wheel drive configuration. The engine produces 230bhp of power and 360Nm of torque. Weighing in at 2055kg, the car claims to do a 0-100 kph sprint in just 5.9 sec.
Apart from this, customers are also expected to get a hot windscreen in the interior of the car, two wireless charging pads with volume controls for the audio system. According to several media reports, the estimated ex-showroom price of the car could be Rs 50 lakh. The car is expected to rival the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in India, which is priced at Rs. 45.95 lakh
The battery comes with BYD's patented Blade Cell technology like other BYD cars, it supports fast charging speeds of up to 150kW. It charges to 10-80 per cent in 37 minutes. Using a regular 11kW AC charger, it takes 8.6 hours to charge from 0-100 percent. While these specs are of the entry-level RWD variant, the dual-motor variant is likely to get an AWD system with 530hp and a range of 520km.
In terms of design, the Seal features details similar to the 2021 Ocean X concept and comes with BYD's "Ocean Athetics" design language. It also follows the Ocean-themed names in BYD's EV range. The Seal gets details like a coupe-like all-glass roof, flush-fitting door handles, four boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, split headlamp design, and a full-width LED light bar at the rear.
