Bhumi Pednekar's film Bhakshak is inspired by true events. Such films are often hard hitting and Bhakshak also carries forward the same streak. Bhumi plays a struggling TV journalist in the film who puts everything on the line to expose the girl's home scandal. The film is based on the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case. One night a woman journalist of a small YouTube channel is handed over the audit report, on which the state government has not been able to take any action for the last three months. According to the report, the girls living in the Munawwarpur shelter home are being raped. It also comes to the fore that any girl who opposes this rape, her name is erased. Vaishali gets into this religious war. Bhaskar, a middle-aged cameraman, is his only charioteer.
Actor Shah Rukh Khan's production company's film Bhakshak, which released on Netflix, is also inspired by the Muzaffarpur shelter home case in Bihar in which 35 girls were rescued after being sexually assaulted and assaulted.

Bhumi Pednekar plays the role of a journalist and a housewife in the film. There is not a single scene in the film that you feel is unnecessary or felt that it was not needed. The film is shocking, frightening and moving.
