With Team India becoming the T20 World Champion, the era started, which the fans feared. One after the other, the veterans announced their retirement. Indian captain Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from T20I cricket. Now Team India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also announced to leave the blue jersey in this format forever. Jadeja announced his retirement on Sunday, June 30, a day after Team India's victory.

Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from international cricket with an emotional post on Instagram. Jadeja wrote in his post that winning the World Cup was the biggest milestone of his T20 career. Jadeja said that he is retiring from T20 Internationals with happiness in his heart. "He always gave his best for the country and will continue to do so in the rest of the formats.

Ravindra Jadeja played all the 8 matches for Team India in this World Cup. However, this tournament did not prove to be special for him and he could not show anything amazing with the bat or make an impact in bowling. He got a chance to bowl in 7 innings of the tournament but could only take 1 wicket. He gave away just 35 runs in his 5 overs. His brilliance in fielding certainly continued, where he stopped many runs.

Jadeja made his debut in T20 format for Team India on the tour of Sri Lanka in February 2009. Since then, he has been a part of the Indian team in almost every T20 World Cup. He missed the last T20 World Cup in Australia due to injury. In his career, Jadeja played 74 matches for Team India, scoring 515 runs at an average of 21 and taking 54 wickets at an average of 29.85.
