7th Pay Commission DA: DA might increase up to 4%

Media reports claim that around the New Year, the Mohan Yadav government is likely to announce a 4% DA hike. Over 7 lakh employees are expected to benefit from the move. If DA is increased, it will increase from 42% to 46%, which will be on par with central government employees.

What is Government fitment factor in 7th Pay Commission?         

 

Ahead of Diwali, the Modi government had last month increased the dearness allowance of its employees by 4 per cent to 46 per cent of the basic pay. Union minister Anurag Thakur said the hike in dearness allowance and dearness relief will benefit 48.67 lakh central government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners, respectively. The release of additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) will be effective from July 1, 2023. DA and DR are given twice a year to employees and pensioners respectively to compensate for price rise.

The government is going to deposit the stuck 18 months' DA arrears of central employees and pensioners in the account, which will prove to be like a booster dose. With this, the employees are expected to get a good salary. This will benefit about 1 crore employees and pensioners. Besides, the government will also increase the fitment factor.

7th Pay Commission: How much money will be in the account?

The DA arrears of central employees and pensioners will be credited to their accounts soon. It will be like a big gift for central employees. The government did not remit the DA arrears from January 2020 to June 30, 2021. For this, 18 months "time has been allotted. The workers have been demanding this for a long time, which is now being considered to be affixed. There is a talk that the Modi government can give this big gift before the Lok Sabha elections. People will be benefitted from this. Over 1 crore families are expected to benefit from the scheme. The government has not made any official comment on the matter yet. But now it is being considered possible to stamp any day.
