Kia India has launched 5 new variants in the Tech Line grade of the Seltos facelift. This includes the HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX +. All these diesel engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and with this engine; the car will get a certified mileage of 20.7 kmpl. With the addition of the new trims, the Kia Seltos now has 24 variants.
The Korean company had launched the face lifted Seltos in the Indian market in July last year with a new look and updated features, but the company had removed the manual transmission option from the diesel engine. Now it has been re-introduced after the recent Hyundai Creta was launched with a diesel engine manual transmission.
The car will be available in 7 single tone and 2 dual tone colour options. In the mid-size SUV segment, it will compete with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hybrid, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross.
The company has set the starting price of the diesel manual variant at Rs 12 lakh. The top-spec trim is priced at Rs. 18.28 lakh, which is slightly lower than the top-spec Creta diesel-manual that costs Rs. 18.74 lakh.
The car will get a certified mileage of 20.7 kmpl. With the addition of the new trims, the Kia Seltos now has 24 variants.
Bookings for the Seltos diesel-MT have begun. Buyers can book the car online or offline on the company's official website by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000 from their nearest Kia dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin next month.
The new Seltos will come with a panoramic sunroof with voice control, advanced driver assistance system level two (ADAS-2) and more than 32 safety features. This includes 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, LED lights, power-adjustable ventilated seats, wireless charging, ambient lighting with LED sound mode light, air purifier, 8-speaker premium Bose audio system, 8-inch head-up display, 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, sequential LED turn indicators, electronic parking brake and more. The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift gets a seamless 10.25 -inch dual display. This includes a touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital TFT instrument cluster on the centre console.
The Seltos facelift comes with 17 autonomous Level-2 features. These include Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist, Rear Blind Spot Collision Avoidance and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
This includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rear view camera, electronic stability program, hill hold control, and hill descent control.
The Seltos now gets 6 transmission options with three engines. This includes a new 1.5 -litre 4-cylinder turbo GDI petrol engine producing 160bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
The 1.5 -litre 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 115 PS and 144Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual (6MT) and an IVT automatic.
This includes the 1.5 -litre, 4-cylinder, CRDi VGT diesel engine. The engine produces 116bhp and 250Nm of torque. It is tuned with 6MT (new) 6iMT and 6AT gearbox.
The Seltos facelift comes with a host of changes as compared to the current model. It features redesigned LED headlamps, LED turn indicators and LED DRLs integrated into the tiger nose accents. The rear of the Seltos facelift features new design LED connected tail-lamps and dual exhausts. The top-spec variant of the new Seltos will also get an electrically-powered tailgate.
